MDUG Member Services

MDUG's Objectives

  1. To provide a forum for the discussion and exchange of information on the DB2 Family, and related products and tools.
  2. To raise the level of understanding of the DB2 Family, related products and tools, and other relational Database Management Systems and their related products and tools that have an association with the DB2 Family.
  3. Maintain information on member requirements, site configurations and operational environments, to encourage contact between sites or individuals that are involved in similar environments.
  4. To evaluate education offerings and literature for the DB2 Family and related products and tools.
  5. Maintain contacts with other Regional DB2 User Groups, and the sharing of experiences between all the regional groups.

The Benefits of MDUG

MDUG provides it's members with the following benefits:

  1. Four General Meetings per Calendar Year. These Meetings have discussions ranging from Technical Presentations, Product Demonstrations, Product Announcements, and User Site Presentations. For more information visit our MDUG Meetings Page
  2. Several Special Interest Group Meetings a year. These Special Interest Groups discuss in more technical details aspects of the DB2 family or related aspects of Databases. To see what Special Interest Groups we have active, visit our MDUG Meetings Page
  3. Special Events. During the year there may arise the occasion where a special presenter is available, and a special meeting will be held for this presentation.
  4. As part of MDUG you also receive the latest news from IDUG on upcoming IDUG conferences. More information on IDUG and it's conferences can be obtained by visting the IDUG Home Page
  5. You receive the IDUG Solutions Journal and Globe magazine. (Conditions apply)
  6. You get to interact with other users of the DB2 Product Family and develop contacts, and be able to share the DB2 experience.

MDUG Membership Costs

To allow MDUG to function, and provide the best in DB2 User Community Education, the following membership fees apply.

All Membership costs are for a 12 month Calendar period starting January and ending December of each year. Half year membership fees are also available, and apply for a member who applies for membership between July and December.

*)     In 1997, we at MDUG have decided to create a new membership category called "On-Line Member". This is an individual who only utilises the on-line services of the Association including, but not limited to its Internet facilities. An "On-Line member" is not entitled to vote, nor are they eligible for nomination to the board.

**)     Includes 10% GST.  Half year membership fee is not available with this discount.
